ISO tanks transport some of the most demanding chemicals in industrial applications, including bulk gases, liquids and powders such as petrochemicals, acids, alkalis, solvents, active pharmaceutical ingredients, high-purity semiconductor fluids and even food-grade or edible oils and liquids. Fluoropolymer lined ISO tanks are designed to carry highly corrosive liquids and high-purity chemicals. The smallest, microscopic breach in the lining material can result in product contamination, equipment corrosion, or safety hazards.

How it Works

1. Receive and assess the vessel: ECM reviews the vessel history, DOT inspection cycle requirements and any known performance issues prior to inspection.
2. External inspection: When an ISO tank shows no signs of a leak, or is exempt from internal inspection, an external inspection will suffice.
3.  Internal inspection: When signs of a leak manifest, an internal inspection can locate the source and determine whether liner repair or replacement is the best option.
4.  Issue DOT certification or proceed to repair: Vessels that pass receive the certifications required for continued road, rail or international use. Those with lining defects move directly into repair.
5. Repair or reline as needed: ECM handles everything from minor repairs completed in days to full relining projects, using advanced fluoropolymer materials.
6. Return to service: Integrated inspection and repair under one roof eliminates delays from sourcing a separate repair facility, to reduce the total downtime.

The benefit of helium detection is that it is non-destructive and identifies the most miniscule flaws. As an added bonus, this method eliminates the risk of damaging the lining during evaluation.
